The iX is defined by its lounge-like interior and a significant mid-cycle refresh that boosts power and range across the board. The updated lineup now starts with the xDrive45 (402 hp / ~374-mile range), peaks with the high-performance M70 (650 hp), and offers a long-range xDrive60 capable of over 420 miles. Inside, you’ll find a sustainable, tech-heavy cabin featuring BMW OS 8.5, 5G connectivity, and a massive curved display.

While air suspension is standard on the flagship M70 for a cloud-like ride, it remains an option for lower trims. Driving is further simplified by the Highway Assistant, which allows for hands-free travel at speeds up to 85 mph on compatible motorways.

Who's the ideal driver for an iX?

The ideal driver for a BMW iX lease is a tech-forward professional or modern family who wants a flagship electric SUV that feels like a high-end lounge on wheels. It’s perfect for those who find traditional luxury cars a bit stuffy and prefer a minimalist, sustainable aesthetic.

Which cars are similar to a BMW iX lease?

While the BMW iX is unique for its lounge-style interior and bold design, it has several close competitors in the luxury electric SUV segment. Most direct rivals include the Audi Q8 e-tron, and Tesla Model X, though newer options like the Lotus Eletre and Polestar 3 now offer a more performance-focused alternative.

Yes, the BMW iX is a fully electric, all-wheel drive SUV.

It offers an impressive electric range, with top-tier models exceeding 400 miles. Key models include the xDrive45 (approx. 374 miles), the xDrive60 M Sport (approx. 424–435 miles), and the performance M70 xDrive (approx. 365–373 miles) based on WLTP figures.

For the xDrive50, xDrive60, and M6, expect a maximum charging capacity of up to 195 kW. At a compatible high-power station, you can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 33–35 minutes.

For the xDrive40, you'll get  a slightly lower peak speed of up to 150 kW. However, because it has a smaller battery, it still reaches the 10–80% mark in about 31–34 minutes.
